the happy egg work with The Happy Chick Company

the happy egg co are continuing their good work of improving the standards of welfare for poultry by sponsoring Peterborough-based organisation The Happy Chick Company. The Happy Chick Company provide a specialist programme for nurseries, schools, colleges, care homes, etc, to educate on the experience of hatching a chick and the lifecycle of a hen.

They deliver the eggs and hatching equipment at the start of the week and by the Thursday, the chicks have usually hatched. It can be an amazing learning experience, particularly for children, as it can be the first time they have ever seen anything like this. The chicks are then picked up the following week, which can lead to a few sad faces! Both the happy egg co and The Happy Chick Company are fully committed to improving standards for chicks and chickens, which is why this is the perfect partnership.

Furthermore, the happy egg co are have also supported the British Hen Welfare Trust on one of their recent projects. The British Hen Welfare Trust is a national charity that helps find homes for end of lay hens, as well as educating the public about how best to care for the birds and how to support the British egg industry. The trusts aim is for all consumers and food manufacturers to buy only free range eggs. All of the happy egg hens are completely free range and are in an environment similar to their natural habitat, with a variety of different terrains and even play equipment to stimulate their brains and bodies.
